I have officially finished an early draft of NCSpiral. As I mentioned earlier, find it here or read about it here.
If you want to see what the program can and will do, take a look at the screenshot below. The left is actually my desktop background (nerdy, no?) on one monitor, while I look at the resulting file from NCSpiral at 450 x 450 on the second (bigger) monitor.
Pretty happy with how this turned out, for only a day's work.
